About
I'm Venkatesh. I design and build AI-native interfaces, lead design systems, and help teams ship better digital products.
I'm a Lead AI Interface Engineer with 14+ years at the intersection of design and engineering. I translate complex capabilities — LLMs, multimodal interactions, confidence, and data lineage — into accessible product experiences people can understand and trust.
My work spans AI chat and agent experiences, enterprise design systems, and full-stack React. At CNA Financial, I've built interfaces with Vertex AI and Google Generative AI, established standards for AI-generated content, and helped teams improve delivery through responsible AI-assisted development.
As a Vercel AI Accelerator alumnus, I demonstrated AI-enhanced products to technology leaders from GitHub, Meta, and Vercel. I also hold Google Generative AI Leader and AWS Solutions Architect certifications.
What I'm working on
I'm focused on Lead AI Interface Engineer and Senior React roles where I can shape how AI capabilities are expressed in product — from chatbot UX and multimodal interaction design to design system governance for AI-generated content.
I'm also deepening my work in Figma Make and AI-assisted design workflows, helping teams move faster from prototype to production without sacrificing design quality or accessibility standards.
How I work
- Design and code together: I prototype in Figma and build in React — moving fluently between design intent and implementation reality so nothing gets lost in handoff.
- Make AI behavior visible: I design interfaces that surface confidence, uncertainty, and data lineage — so users can calibrate their trust in AI outputs rather than just accept them.
- Build for scale from the start: I care about design systems, component governance, and the patterns that let quality compound across teams and products over time.
- Leverage AI to ship faster: I use GitHub Copilot, Gemini, and other AI tools to accelerate development — and I mentor teams on how to do the same responsibly.

How I Think About AI Interfaces
Building on 14+ years of UI/UX practice and 5+ years deep in AI-native product design, these are the principles that shape my decisions.
Transparency Builds Trust
AI interfaces must show their reasoning — confidence scores, data lineage, and uncertainty signals help users calibrate trust instead of blindly relying on model output.
Design Systems Scale Quality
Investing in shared patterns, components, and governance is how design quality compounds — so every team ships better work faster rather than reinventing the wheel.
Accessibility Is Non-Negotiable
WCAG compliance isn't a checkbox — it's a design constraint that produces better interfaces for everyone. AI-generated content needs accessible patterns just as much as any other UI.
AI Amplifies, Not Replaces
The best AI products augment human judgment rather than bypass it. I design for human-AI collaboration — keeping people in control while dramatically reducing their cognitive load.
